1. Information We Collect

1.1 Location Data

The App collects location data for the purpose of displaying your current location on the map.

Location data is collected only while the App is in use; no background location tracking is performed.

Location data is not used for the purpose of identifying individuals.

Location data is not used for the purpose of tracking users.

Please note that the accuracy of location data depends on your device and surrounding environment.

Important: Location data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our external servers. However, data collection by third-party services described in Section 1.2 may occur.

1.2 Data Collected by Third-Party Services

The following third-party services used in the App may automatically collect certain data:

Google AdMob (Advertising):

This data is not directly collected or stored by us, but is collected and managed by Google.

Firebase Analytics:

This data is collected and managed by Google. No personally identifiable information is included.

PostHog (Analytics & Session Replay):

To improve the App and understand where users encounter difficulties, the App uses "PostHog" provided by PostHog, Inc. The same usage events as Firebase Analytics, device information, an anonymous identifier (PostHog's identifier, which is not linked to your real name), and your approximate region based on IP address are automatically sent to PostHog's servers (United States).

In addition, to identify where users struggle and improve our screens, PostHog's "session replay" feature records the App's screens and sends the recordings to PostHog's servers. All text input, such as pin names, notes, and feedback text, is recorded in a blacked-out state and cannot be read. The content of the map screen (the visible map area and pin placement) is included in the recordings. We use these recordings solely to improve the App; they are not used for advertising purposes, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

1.3 Survey Responses

To improve the App, we may collect the following information through an in-app survey. Responding to the survey is optional.

This data is stored in a database managed by us on Cloud Firestore, a database service provided by Google. Survey responses are used solely for the purpose of improving the App and are not used to identify individuals. Please do not enter any personally identifiable information in the free-text field.

1.4 Photos

The App lets you attach photos to your pins. Photos attached to pins on your personal map (on-device) are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to our external servers or cloud. When you delete a pin, its attached photos are deleted as well.

However, photos attached to shared pins under the shared map "Team plan" are stored in the cloud (Firebase Storage) to share them among members, as described in Section 1.5.

Taking photos requires camera access permission, which you can change at any time in iOS Settings.

1.5 Shared Maps (Sign in with Apple and Cloud Storage)

When you use the shared map feature, you can share and co-edit pins with other members in real time. Only when you use this feature, the following information is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase) that we manage and shared among members of the same map. If you use only your personal (on-device) map, this data is not transmitted.

This data is stored in Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage under our managed project. Sharing is limited to members of the map and is not made public to unrelated third parties. Map owners can remove members, and members can leave. When an owner deletes a map, its pins, photos, and member information are deleted.

1.6 Subscription

Creating a shared map requires a monthly or yearly subscription (with a 1-month free trial) through the App Store. Payment is processed by Apple (the App Store); we do not obtain or store payment information such as credit card numbers. Subscription status is verified on-device based on purchase information (receipts) provided by Apple. Members who join by invitation use it for free.

2. How We Use Information

The information we collect is used solely for the following purposes:

3. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

4. Data Storage and Management

4.1 Storage Location

Data directly managed by the App, such as pins and settings, is stored locally on your iOS device using SwiftData and is never transmitted to our external servers or the cloud.

However, if you respond to the in-app survey, your survey responses (the data described in Section 1.3) are transmitted to and stored in a database managed by us on Google's Cloud Firestore. In addition, Google AdMob and Firebase Analytics transmit the data described in Section 1.2 to their respective servers.

4.2 Data Deletion

The App does not have an automatic data deletion feature. Users can manually delete pins through in-app operations.

When you uninstall the App, all app data stored on your device (pins, settings, etc.) is automatically deleted.

Deleting shared map data and your account: If you use the shared map feature, running "Delete Account" in the settings screen revokes the Sign in with Apple link and deletes the account-related data we store. Map owners can delete their maps to remove that map's shared pins, photos, and member information; members can leave a map to delete their own member information. Deleting shared photos also deletes the underlying objects in the cloud (Firebase Storage).

5. Data Retention

6. Sharing Information with Third Parties

The App does not share users' location data or personal information with third parties, except in the following cases:

7. Advertising

7.1 Google AdMob

The App uses Google AdMob to display banner ads and app open ads. AdMob may collect the following information for ad delivery:

Data collected by AdMob is managed and processed by Google. This data is not directly collected or stored by us, but is managed in accordance with Google's policies as a service provider.

For AdMob's privacy policy, please refer to Google Privacy Policy.

7.2 Ad Personalization and Opt-Out

The App obtains user consent for ad tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.

If you decline tracking in the ATT prompt, personalized ads will not be displayed and only non-personalized ads will be served.

You can control advertising settings through the following methods:

7.3 Firebase Analytics

The App uses Firebase Analytics to analyze app usage. Firebase Analytics may collect the following data:

Firebase Analytics does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and instead uses an anonymous app instance ID.

For Firebase's privacy policy, please refer to the Firebase Privacy Support Page.

You can opt out of data collection by Firebase Analytics through the UMP Consent Management Platform.

8. International Data Transfers

Through the use of Google AdMob and Firebase Analytics, certain data may be transferred to and processed on Google's servers located in the United States and other countries outside of your country of residence.

Google implements appropriate data protection measures for international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, to ensure that your data is protected in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

For more information, see Google's Data Transfer Frameworks.

9. Required Permissions

The App requires the following permissions:

10. Data Security

The App uses standard iOS security features to protect user data. All data is securely stored on the device.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 16 (or the age defined by applicable local laws). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under the applicable age, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

12. Your Rights

12.1 Rights Under the GDPR (EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

12.2 Rights Under the CCPA/CPRA (California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA):
